ARBUTUS COLLEGE

A. Overview

Arbutus College was established in 2002, with the key objective to provide students a unique business and communication educational structure not available elsewhere in Vancouver. Various surveys conducted with over 1000 graduates from the College reflect a high level of satisfaction in their chosen programs of study. As a result, their students have increased confidence to compete for good positions in the job market.

The location is in downtown and Vancouver neighborhood is full of trendy stores, coffee shops, and restaurants. The College is less than a 2 minute walk from a main bus, train, sky-train, and sea-bus station.

Arbutus College offers students a pathway to a university degree. University-level transfer credits are awarded in blocks or as individual courses to students who have successfully completed listed courses and/or completed a two-year professional diploma program in Business Management and/or Hotel Management from Ascenda School of Management.

All areas of academic study include access to practical work experience through one of our co-op or practicum programs. The co-op and practicum components form an integral part of study at Arbutus College and are recognized with a 5 credit-hours load. International students enrolled in our co-op diploma programs can apply for a Canadian Work Permit.

Moreover, Arbutus College has developed strong relationships with local businesses; therefore, students can expect quality co-op placements in many different types of companies. Our co-op work-study programs help build strong business networks and provide valuable work experience.
